Clasping Coneflower: Also known as, Dracopis amplexicaulis, or Rudbeckia Species, the Clasping Coneflower will have the greatest success and greatest ease of growth in drier, hotter climates. This flower should be fall planted in zones 7-10. It is an easy flower to start from seed and will typically reseed itself if the seeds can get direct contact with the soil. Requires full sun.   • Direct sow in late fall, planting the Purple Coneflower (Echinacea purpurea) seeds 1/4" deep and lightly compacting the soil. For spring planting, mix the seed with moist sand and store it in the refrigerator for 90 days before direct sowing; keep the soil consistently moist until germination.
