Phaseolus vulgaris "Royal Burgundy"

A bean like no other! This stringless bean is dark purple outside and green inside. When it is cooked, it turns entirely green. Adds an unexpected splash of color to salads. A bush bean with high-yields and cold-tolerance. Pods average 6” and are pencil-shaped.

🌱 Planting Instructions
Type: Annual
Sun: Full
Planting Depth: 1”
Spacing: 4-6”
Water: Moderate
Days to Maturity/Bloom: 60 days
Height: 24”
Zones: 3-12

Approx seeds per order 30

Plant bean seeds after all danger of frost has passed, and soil temperature is 48F minimum. Plants need 6-8 hours sunlight per day. Sow seeds 1" deep, 4-6" apart, in rows that are 2-3' apart. Seeds may be started indoors.

Water deeply and regularly. Weed carefully as they have shallow roots.

Bush beans mature all at the same time and must be harvested at once. If allowed to sit longer than a day or two, the flavor suffers.

Plant a new crop every two weeks for a continuous harvest. Bush beans may be grown in containers.
